Ms. Higgenbottom,
Thank you so much for the books in less than three hours they were all gone. Myrtle beach sounds fantastic right now especially on this weekend I can imagine the grills, kids running on the beach and the Atlantics salt water breeze and an airconditioned feeling 90 degrees. Makes me miss home. well enough day dreaming I hope you all have a great Labor Day have some barbque and a toast for us.

Ms. Higginbottom:

I am currently in transitioning the company into a detachment - working on a reduction of people to slowly exit this country.
I am sorry. With all the transitioning, I didn't get a chance to let you know that we received the ping pong balls, books and whiffle ball sets. We provided 6 of the sets to the Chaplain to distribute and have whiffle ball games taking place in the lot frequently. Thanks!

Take care and thank you for your support. The Marines and Sailors felt more at home due to your help.

Ms. Higginbottom:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the books that you sent us in several packages! We have them all on shelves ready for our Marines' enjoyment at any time! I have been watching books moving out and coming back in the past week or so that we received them. I am extremely happy for our Marines to have the ability to grab a book, sit and read, etc... when they have some down time. Excellent! Thank you and your community for the support. These kids need it!

Sincerely,

Tom

MRS Higginbottom,

Myself and the Soldiers of the 300th Military Police Company "WARDAWGS"
would like to thank you and your organization for the paperback books.
The books are placed in a common area for all Soldiers to enjoy. Once
they read them they are asked to return the books for other Soldiers in
the unit to enjoy. The books you send provide numerous Soldiers time to
take a little time for themselves and relax and read a book. Once again
the WARDAGS greatly appreciate your support.

Operation Paperback is a non-profit, grassroots program founded in 1999.

We collect gently used books and send them to American troops deployed overseas. Many of our troops are serving far from home and living in facilities that provide few of the comforts of home. At the end of the duty day, the opportunity to escape into a good book is welcomed. Every week we receive thanks from troops who are glad to be appreciated and remembered. Our service members make sacrifices every day for our country. It takes so little to let them know that we appreciate what they are doing for us. When you join in Operation Paperback, you will let our troops know that you support them, and you have not forgotten them.
